Leadership Philosophy

I have been lucky enough to have taken 18 credits worth of leadership studies, and I have also been lucky enough to be involved in leadership opportunities that take place outside of the classroom. For each of these internal and external experiences, and culminating with HDF 495, I feel my strength in my core philosophy as a leader solidify and strengthen.

I feel the drive to constantly reach higher, and as a leader I make it my priority to bring my followers even higher with me. I find that there is nothing more gratifying than seeing a project or an effort from start to finish and finding that not only myself, but others are bettered for it. I believe that a leader must trust their followers that if you give them your commitment and you give them opportunity, they will flourish, they will grow, and they will succeed. 

 Leadership Strengths and Development

I have learned so much about myself throughout the process of the leadership minor. I must say that taking part in Gallups StrengthQuest and learning my top strengths gave me a whole new outlook on who I am as a person. It also gave me insight as to how to play off of the strengths of those I am working with or leading. My top five strengths are:
